Psychotherapy
The
fees for psychotherapy services are not covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Some coverage is provided
by most private health insurance plans. Some insurance companies cover therapists with M.Eds. directly. Other
plans require that I work under the supervision of a licensed psychologist which I do in this circumstance. I will provide
the appropriate receipt for you to be reimbursed by your plan. My fees are consistent with what Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy
Association members charge. I prefer to keep fees in an average range despite my years of experience and extensive training
because my specialty is long-term psychotherapy and I am cognizant of the accumulated expense over time. The fee covers
a 50 minute session.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)
My
fee for EMDR is the same as it is for psychotherapy. However, an EMDR session can be more expensive when a longer time
is needed to process traumatic material. Some EMDR sessions are 80 minutes instead of the usual 50 minutes.
